Have you ever wondered why there are so many kids out there vastly unprepared to eat nutritiously? Although it might seem like a modern epidemic, the fact of the matter is that kids these days don't really know how to cook. Instead of watching their parents prepare ingredients and fry up eggs on a daily basis, they are driven to a fast food place. Unfortunately, poor nutritional habits can come back to haunt you in the long run. I have always felt like the best thing you can do for your children is to teach them how to cook, which is why I put up this blog.

Best Reception Halls With Beautiful Surroundings In Portland, OR

If you are looking for a great place to host a wedding reception, retirement dinner, holiday party, or any other occasion, why not rent a reception hall that boasts beautiful views as well as delicious food? Your guests will love the scenery and the party will be much more memorable for everyone. There are lots of different options of reception halls in Portland. Many are located right in Portland proper, while others are just outside of city limits. Lakeside Gardens

Located on the southeast side of Portland, once you drive onto the grounds, you feel like you are out in the country at an estate. The lake and the gardens are immaculately groomed while the building that houses the reception hall itself has more of a functional feel to it.  The food here is served buffet style and is intensely delicious. After dinner there is a dessert table stacked high with snacks. The staff is there to attend to your drink needs, including any alcoholic beverages. This reception hall is great for a work party, a small wedding reception, or a birthday celebration.

Ainsworth House and Gardens

Located right outside of Portland, off of the freeway, Ainsworth House and Gardens, is just that; a elegant Victorian with Greek Revival columns and gardens with manicured hedges. There is a raised platform outside in the gardens for weddings or speakers. You can have an outdoor wedding here and then move right over to the reception hall on the same grounds. The hall boasts a parquet floor and an intimate feel. This is a venue for small weddings and parties of a hundred or less. The hall works with several different caterers, so that your food requests can be taken care off for you and your guests.

Lan Su Chinese Garden

Located on the heart of downtown Portland, the Lan Su Chinese garden will make your guests feel like they have been transported to another world once inside the gates. From the outside the gardens seem small; inside there is a large lake filled with waterlilies, covered bridges, and waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens. The city seems to disappear. This venue will be a unique and unforgettable experience for a wedding or a elegant party of any sort. The venue provides catering, a wait staff, and a tented area for seating.
